A tour guide has enough to think about.
The last thing they need is to spend the first few minutes of every tour organizing audio equipment, assigning receivers, and making sure everyone is connected.
Poly Speaker takes a different approach.
The tourists already have the device they need: their own smartphone.
The process is simple.
Step 1 — The guide starts the network
The guide turns on the pocket router, which creates the local Wi-Fi network for the tour.
The guide then opens PolySpeaker Broadcast on their own smartphone and creates the tour. Broadcast generates a QR code for that specific tour.
Step 2 — Tourists connect to the Wi-Fi
Each tourist connects their smartphone to the Wi-Fi network created by the guide's pocket router.
No internet connection is required. The router provides the local network used for communication during the tour.
Step 3 — Tourists join the tour
Tourists open the free PolySpeaker Listener app and scan the QR code displayed by the guide.
The QR code identifies the specific tour they want to join.
There is no receiver to hand out, no device number to assign, and no complicated setup.
Step 4 — The tour begins
The guide speaks into their own smartphone using PolySpeaker Broadcast.
The tourists hear the guide through their own smartphones using PolySpeaker Listener.
Imagine several tour groups visiting the same attraction.
Each guide may be using Poly Speaker at the same time.
The QR code identifies the particular tour a tourist wants to join. They don't simply receive audio from any nearby group.
This allows different groups to operate independently, even when they are in the same area.
Not everyone has to decide at the beginning that they want to listen.
One tourist may join immediately.
Another may prefer to listen directly to the guide.
Someone else may decide to join a few minutes later.
With Poly Speaker, joining the audio does not require the guide to change anything.
The tourist simply connects to the Wi-Fi network and joins the tour using their own smartphone.
A tourist's smartphone may temporarily lose communication with the local Wi-Fi network because of distance, interference, or another temporary problem.
PolySpeaker Listener is designed to automatically reconnect to the same tour when communication is restored.
If necessary, the tourist can also press RECONNECT.
The Listener app also provides AUDIO ON/OFF and LEAVE/JOIN controls.
The idea behind Poly Speaker is not to add another technical task to a tour.
The guide carries their own smartphone and one small pocket Wi-Fi router.
The tourists carry the smartphones they already have.
The pocket router creates the local network. The Broadcast app creates the tour and its QR code. The Listener app connects each tourist to that specific tour.
And after that, the guide can concentrate on what really matters — the tour itself.
One guide. One smartphone. One pocket router. The rest is in the tourists' own hands.
